Haley Sharp Gives Penn State Behrend Commencement Address

Haley Sharp, of Pleasant Hills, was chosen to deliver the welcome address at the fall 2013 commencement ceremony for Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. She earned a degree in mechanical engineering.

More than 200 degrees were conferred during the ceremony, which was held Dec. 20 in the Junker Center on the Penn State Behrend campus.

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is a comprehensive residential college with more than 4,350 students. The heart of the campus -- the former Glenhill Farm -- was donated by Mary Behrend, the widow of Ernst Behrend, who founded the Hammermill Paper Co. in Erie in 1898.
