Penn State Behrend Provides Students with Summer Funding for Undergraduate Research

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, awarded Brianne Campbell, from Erie, Pa., a $1,200 Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship to conduct an individual research project, titled "Co-Assembly of the KCNN Family of Proteins: Co-Immunoprecipitation and FRET."

Throughout the summer, Campbell, a freshman studying agriculture, is working with Dr. Heather Jones, assistant professor of biology.

This year, Penn State Behrend awarded 44 such grants totaling more than $64,000 to 57 students. Annually Penn State Behrend provides nearly $250,000 to support undergraduate research conducted by its students.
