Tanya Riston Awarded Funding for Undergraduate Research

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has awarded Tanya Riston, from Erie, a $700 grant for the 2010-11 academic year to conduct an individual research project, titled "Investigating the Convergence of an Approximate Solution to a Homogeneous, Nonlinear, Nolocal Boundary Value Problem."

Throughout the year, Riston, a sophomore mathematics major, is working with Dr. Daniel Galiffa, assistant professor of mathematics.

This year, Penn State Behrend awarded 69 academic year grants totaling more than $64,800 to 109 students. Annually Penn State Behrend provides nearly $250,000 to support undergraduate research conducted by its students.
